Overview Edit

Residences are residential buildings that noteworthy people live in. They can't be purchased or burgled but they provide some unique actions depending on who lives in them.

  • In the campaigns, most residence actions can only be used once per residence.
  • Although not listed below, the Hideout is also a type of residence

Celebrity Edit

Celebrity icon

Celebrities are a cheap and simple source of both clean and dirty money:

  • Lavish Gift (pay $500): Improve relations with the celebrity
  • Performance (give 5 Liquor; requires neutral or warm relations): Gain clean money
    • You can use the action multiple times, there's a cool down period after each use
    • The money gained depends on how liked you are; more liked = more money
    • Use a Grifter and you'll get even more money!
  • Pull a Scam (requires warm relations): Gain dirty money
    • The celebrity will cease to be available after the scam
    • The money gained depends on how liked you are; more liked means more money
    • Use a Grifter and you'll get even more money!

City Official Edit

City Official

City officials enable you to increase your liked rating, and can also launder dirty money in to clean money:

  • Extortion (requires neutral or warm relations): Gain dirty money
    • The official will cease to be available after the extortion
    • The money gained depends on how feared you are; more feared means more money
    • Use an Enforcer and you'll get more money!
  • Charity Event (pay $500): Improve your liked rating by 10
    • Also improves your relations with the official
    • Use a Grifter and your liked rating will increased by a further 2 points!
    • Building a Soup Kitchen or Casino will sometimes improve relations
  • Launder Money (pay $1,000; requires warm relations): Receive $$500 clean money
    • Depending on game mode, you will only be able to use this action once per official
    • This is the worst laundering commission fee in the game! (1:5 ratio)
    • Get a better deals from Rabbi Hobsbaum or Joseph Springfield on the Money tab of the Jobs screen
    • Alternatively, build an Accountant to automatically launder money for you with even lower fees

Politician Edit

Politician

Politicians enable you to increase your liked rating, and can also free jailed henchmen.

  • Extortion (requires neutral or warm relations): Gain $ dirty money
    • The politician will cease to be available after the extortion
    • The money gained depends on how feared you are; more feared = more money
    • Use an Enforcer and you'll get more money!
  • Charity Event (pay $500): Improve your liked rating by 10
    • Also improves relations with the politician
    • Use a Grifter and your liked rating will increased by a further 2 points!
  • Get out of Jail (requires warm relations): Instantly free a henchman from jail
    • The politician will cease to be available after this action
    • Avoids the need for a combat mission; useful early game
    • Alternatively, do a combat mission (Special tab on Jobs screen) to break your henchman out of jail

Crime Lord Edit

Note: Icon is similar to that of Hideouts (gang bases).

Crime Lord

Crime lords supply weapons and lucrative combat missions:

  • Appeasement Gift (pay $1,000): Improve relations with the crime lord
  • Buy Weapon (pay $dirty money; requires neutral or warm relations): Obtain enhanced weapons for henchmen to use in combat.
    • The $ cost of the weapon depends on the variant (level of enhancement)
    • You can also buy weapons from a Deputy's residence
    • The cool down period after buying a weapon from a crime lord is longer than that of a deputy
  • Wet Works (requires neutral or warm relations): Gain $1,500 form a random combat mission
    • This action raises heat
    • In sandbox and multiplayer, you will level up after a successful mission
    • Use a Hitman to avoid raising heat
    • Use a Burglar to gain +25% money (:

Deputy Edit

Deputy

Deputies are members of the Police who supply weapons and reset heat:

  • Bribe (pay $1,000): Improve relations with the deputy
  • Buy Weapon (pay $ dirty money; requires neutral or warm relations): Obtain enhanced weapons for henchmen to use in combat.
    • The cost of the weapon depends on the variant (level of enhancement)
    • You can also buy weapons from a Crime Lord
    • The cool down period after buying a weapon from a deputy is shorter than that of a crime lord
  • Call a Favor (requires warm relations): Instantly reset the heat to 0 stars.
    • The deputy will cease to be available after this action
    • There are other ways to stop an investigation ;)
